Heinrich Lübke

From 1937 to 1945, Lübke was active in the construction and housing development sector. From 1939, he was a member of the Schlempp construction group which first came under the Todt organisation and then under Armaments Minister Albert Speer. From 1946, he was a CDU Landtag Deputy and from 1947 Agriculture Minister in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1949/50 and from 1953 to 1959, Lübke was a Member of the Bundestag and Federal Minister of Agriculture. He was elected Federal President in 1959 and remained in office until 1969.
