Gerhard Schröder
born 7.4.1944 in Mossenberg
Schröder was a Member of the Bundestag from 1980 to 1986. The law graduate
became Prime Minister of Lower Saxony in 1990. As the SPD's front-runner,
Schröder won the Bundestag elections in October 1998 and was elected Federal
Chancellor by the Red-Green majority. Schröder held the office of Federal Chancellor until November 2005.
