This austere and functional edifice was built in 1950 for the French High Commissioner. Upon promulgation of the Bonn–Paris conventions in 1955, the Allied High Commission ceased operations and the building was subsequently used as an embassy. After it was torn down in 2011, the site was used for a residential area.
