Two years following adoption of the Basic Treaty (Treaty concerning the basis of relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic), the two countries established separate permanent missions. In 1974, East Germany’s mission moved into a building on Godesberger Allee. Since 1991 offices of the Federal States of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and Saxony have been headquartered here.
